Senior Beta has seen quite a few changes this year! One of the major changes was the time and location of the State Beta Convention. We met in Springfield, MO, the weekend of December 1-2, and close to 4,000 Betas from all over the state of Missouri competed in academic, art, music, craft, and scientific challenges-just to name a few. Our students did us proud as usual! Kate Wyman is the new Missouri State Senior Beta Secretary, and she will be competing in Savannah, GA, this summer for a chance to be the National Beta secretary. Samantha Booker placed third in the speech competition, and will also be traveling to Savannah in June to compete on the national level. Josh Shidler, for his amazing dancing ability during the campaign skit, received a Golden Ticket and will be participating in a flash mob dance routine in downtown Savannah, and Josh will also be receiving dance lessons and be part of a dance routine on the opening night of the National Beta Convention. All the students who participated in the campaign skit will be attending the national convention to support Kate in her endeavors to become the National Beta Secretary. In all twenty-four students will be traveling to Savannah, GA, this summer.
